Enable Latin America
With ⅓ of the world’s arable land and freshwater, it’s no wonder why Latin America has been a world leader in agriculture for centuries. In the last few years, we have seen a dramatic rise in agtech disruptors bringing innovation to every aspect of the supply chain. The Enable Latin America project, a joint venture between SmartHectar and enpact, aims to support corporates in blending these new agtech developments into their long term innovation strategy.
Why Latin America?
Venture capital and private equity investment has more than quadrupled in the last 4 years. When it comes to agtech, this investment is most heavily deployed in Brazil, Argentina and Mexico, with Chile and Colombia close behind.
Naturally, the rise of disruptors tends to attract corporate attention. Understanding that startups can be a source of fast innovation, many of the leading multinational corporations in the region are using startups to find synergies. In 2020, we saw nearly 500 publicly stated startup collaboration programs from corporates with $4B+ in annual revenues.
